No, you don't need your own sewing machine.
You may want to try sewing and see if you like it, or you want advice before investing in a machine, or you may not have it in your budget to get a new machine right now. All those things are very possible and if you find yourself in that boat I have machines for hire. There is a limited amount so it does come at a first in best dressed basis, simply tick the appropriate box when buying your ticket.
